Indonesia’s finance minister, Bambang Brodjonegoro, estimates the economy grew between 5.0-5.1% in Q3 this year on a year to year basis. Also the September trade balance showed a small deficit as exports had been hit by falling prices.
The finance minister noted that the slowdown in China is more significant to Indonesia than normalization of the U.S.
The central bank of Indonesia expects growth this year in the range of 5.1 to 5.5%, with Q3 growth at 5.2%.
